Perkis thanking the Worshipful Master, Officers and Brethren of

Needles Lodge for “such a super evening and for the lovely

reception he and the Provincial Team received during the Official

Visit to the Lodge on 3rd February and that it was great to see the

lodge in such good form and carrying out such an enjoyable

       ceremony of very high quality”.

June 2016 - In accordance with the Notice of Motion given at the

last meeting, W. Bro. David Baggaley paid tribute to the loyal and

devoted service given by Bro. Ned Sparks as our Organist for the

past 25 years, proposed and seconded by W Bro David Morey

that Bro, Ned be elected as an honorary member of Needles

Lodge. The Worshipful Master declared the resulting ballot to be

       favourable.

Unfortunately unbeknown to us at the time, this was to be our last

meeting at which our Worshipful Master W. Bro. Nick Sillence

presided. Shortly after the meeting, he and his wife Suzanne,

together with friends embarked on a cruise to the Baltic, from

which he sadly did not return. He passed to the Grand Lodge

above peacefully in his sleep on the 10 June. His subsequent

funeral service held on 15 July was well attended by not only
Needles members but also many Island Masons at which we were

proud to sing the closing ode in tribute to him.
