Post War Years


       October 1948 - Bro. J. E. Raddings was thanked for his


       beautifully executed mural of the Needles Rocks and Lighthouse

       with which he decorated the lodge anteroom. The membership

       now stood at 111.



       The Worshipful Master installed in 1950, was a Bro A. S. Poole,

       whom later became Assistant Director of Ceremonies from 1952-

       59 and Director of Ceremonies from 1960-88.



       April 1951 - The death of the last Founder W. Bro. H. Marfleet

       PPGStB was recorded in the 50th annual report.



       October 1958 - The Worshipful Master invited W. Bro. A. F.

       Pink, PPSGD to initiate his son, Mr F. A. J. Pink into

       Freemasonry. At the time of writing (August 2016), W. Bro.


       Freddie Pink is the longest surviving member of the lodge,

       although now residing in Kent he attended the June 2015 meeting.



       At the 1959 December meeting, a letter was read out from the

       acting Secretary of a proposed Mark Lodge, requesting the use of

       the premises should a Mark Lodge be formed.



       In January 1960, the permanent committee approved the use of

       the lodge premises by a proposed Mark Lodge. In March an offer

       of £15 15s. 0d per annum was accepted from Needles Mark

       Lodge for the use of the facilities.



       A Special meeting by dispensation (for a fee of 5/- (25p) to

       Province) was called on 16 March 1964 to discuss the possible


       purchase of premises at Golden Hill Fort Hospital. An hour and a

       quarter later with 41 members present, there was a majority
