At the November meeting, members gave their approval for the

       installation of electric lighting.



       In March 1935, reference was made to purchasing land to enlarge

       the lodge rooms to accommodate the increasing membership,

       which on that date stood at 137.



       February 1936 the death of King George V was announced and at

       the October meeting, the Treasurer, W. Bro. Chart stated he did

       not seek re-election. He had been Treasurer since the lodge’s

       consecration 35 years previously (except 1907 when he was


       Worshipful Master).  Sadly, the lodge reported his death in

       January 1938.



       The October minutes 1937 referred to creating a car park at the

       lodge, to accommodate this relatively new mode of transport.






                              The Second World War 1939-1945



       The agenda for September 1939 was a copy of a letter from the

       Grand Secretary, dated 4 September to the effect that all Masonic

       meetings to be suspended until further notice (due to the war).


       Another letter from him was also received, via the Provincial

       Grand Secretary giving details of resumption of meetings under

       particular conditions.



       At the October 1940 meeting, there was a discussion on the

       disposal of jewels of deceased members donated to the lodge by

       family members. Given the urgency for silver and gold at this


       time, it was decided to accede to the request from the Grand
