This beautiful jewel turned up for sale on eBay in 2014 and was
bought and presented to Needles Lodge by the current Lodge
Treasurer, W. Bro. Rod Dennison and once again adorns the
Secretary’s collar.
By March 1921, the annual report showed 128 members.
In March 1922, it was proposed to create a Chapter to the Lodge,
to celebrate 21 years of the Lodge (Although the Chapter did not
form until 1930).
In July 1923, W. Bro. C. Pine presented three gavel blocks to the
lodge made from a gramophone box taken from the German
trenches in the Battle of the Somme.
1924 saw the death of W. Bro. Commander F. W. Chaine
PPSGW, the first Master of the Lodge, his regalia and jewels
were “placed in a position of honour” in the lodge.
May 1925 saw the official visit of The Rt. Hon. The Earl of
Malmesbury, PGW, Eng., PGM, who dedicated the new banner
for the “perpetual use of the Lodge”.
In March 1928 there were 141 members, this being the highest
number of members recorded.
March 1930 saw the approval for the formation of a Royal Arch
Chapter and £50 loaned to the trustees of the Chapter to assist in
its formation.
March 1931 the annual report remarked that the Needles Royal
Arch Chapter had been established and consecrated on 6 August
1930.
