January 1984 - W. Bro. Pope presented the Lodge with a stone he
had obtained from King Solomon’s quarries in Jerusalem while
on his holidays. He had it mounted on a hardwood base and
supplied the shelf for its display.
June - Needles Lodge was among the top 20 lodges for
contributions to the 1984 Festival.
October - A copy of the curriculum vitae of W. Bro. A. S. Poole
PPJGW, attached to the ‘Certificate of Merit’ presented to him,
was entered into the minutes of this meeting.
January 1985 - Mention was made of the refurbishment of the
lodge banner, largely due to the efforts of W. Bro. G. Davies in
producing the two mahogany and glass cases to house the Needles
and West Wight banners, both cases were presented as gifts to the
lodges by W. Bro. G. Davies and his wife, Audrey. A letter of
congratulations and appreciation was also sent to Mrs B.
Middlebrook of Newport, who had kindly done the needlework.
October 1986 – Meeting the Assistant Provincial Grand Master
W. Bro. J. Baker PJGD was present for the rededication of the
Needles Lodge Banner. The West Wight Lodge No. 8570 Banner
was dedicated at the same time.
October - Confirmation that the reference to the physical penalties
in the Obligation would be removed from the initiation ceremony.
April 1990 – W. Bro. A. S. Poole PPJGW was made an honorary
member of the lodge in recognition of more than 50 years of
distinguished service to Freemasonry in general and this lodge in
particular.
