May - The death was announced of W. Bro Arthur S. Poole

PPJGW who died on 18 April.

November 1993 – W. Bro. Don H. Jones Immediate Past Master

presented his Worshipful Master’s apron to the lodge for use by

Ruling Masters of the Lodge to wear during their term of office

(this practice continues).

April 1995 – A letter announcing that the lodge had qualified as a

Patron of the 1994 Festival was read out to members.

January 1999 - A ballot to ban smoking at the Festive Board until

after the Tyler’s Toast was carried.

The New Millennium

March 2000 - A Centenary Committee chaired by the Worshipful

Master, W. Bro. David Brooke was formed with a brief to make

the necessary planning arrangements for the Centenary

Celebration due to take place on 17th May 2001 by dispensation.

A general plan for development by informal contact of the

committee members was agreed. Bro. Barry Foster, as Worshipful

Master Elect assumed overall responsibility for the arrangements.

November 2000 - W Bro. B. Foster, newly installed as

Worshipful Master, took the chair for another Centenary

Committee meeting, and it was he and the Secretary Bro. Ollie

Webb MBE who did most of the background preparation, with the

Treasurer, W. Bro. Alan E. Smith PPSGD, making the financial

arrangements. It was agreed at this meeting to hold the Centenary
