Russ F. D. Potter at the festive board to take place at the
Farringford Hotel Freshwater (the former home of Alfred Lord
Tennyson).
April 2001 - The Secretary proposed and the Assistant Secretary
seconded that we read the minutes of 100 years ago at the
Centenary Meeting, this was the Worshipful Master’s wish and
was approved (these are still read at each meeting).
May 2001 Centenary Meeting - The Provincial Grand Master
presented the Centenary Warrant to the Worshipful Master, also
his Centenary Jewel. At the Centenary Meeting, W Bro. Mike
McDonald presented a bronze bust (which he had sculpted) of the
Grand Master the Duke of Kent to the lodge, which was gratefully
received.
January 2002 - W. Bro. D. Russell gave a lecture, “The Story of a
Stone Mason from Solomon to George IV”.
May 2002 – W. Bro. Robert Proles Assistant Provincial Grand
Master presented the Bronze Award for the 2005 Festival.
February 2003 – A lapel pin for 50 years continuous service to
Freemasonry was awarded to W. Bro. Ian Purkis PPJGW a few
years after the event.
April 2003 - Needles Lodge received the Officers and Members
of the Royal Sovereign Light Lodge No. 6630. A presentation to
them by the Worshipful Master, W. Bro. John Wheatley of a
stained glass plaque of the Needles Lighthouse (which he had
made) to commemorate their visit.
